Military Scale Models | National Exhibition

2013 – The 5th edition of the “Military scale models National exhibition” (https://www.facebook.com/events/574386519291326/?ref=22) takes place at the National Military Museum in Bucharest, Romania (National Military Museum Romania). In spite of the Military dedicated scale models, there are allowed to be exposed all types of scale models, no matter the reproduction scale and the type (navy, terrestrial or aero). The goal is to popularize this hobby among the interested people, to know each other and to show to the others that “it is serious mater”. My contribution at this event consists in 3 scale models, previously presented on this blog, but never seen in real by the Romanian modeling community:
Here you can find some photos from Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th of September, the days when the most of exhibitors brings their models to be exposed. Also you will recognize my models.

The exhibition is open from 15th of September until the 26th of October 2013.You have the chance to see some very good works of Romanian Mmodellers, so do not hesitate to take a look in an autumn Sunday, and bring your child to see that there is a way to remain, somehow, a child for ever!

The hot rod culture gets the inspiration from various sides of the today's life. There is a current to lay down on some custom cars the patterns of some WWII planes.
One of my favourite planes, otherwise, I have one on work table in progress, is the Mustang. Especially the P51 versions. It has an aluminium finishing and some red or yellow or dark olive green colour decoration. The pattern I love much is silver / red. There was a lot of styles but I like very much the variant below:

So, why don’t try to make a custom like this?
As I told previously I have on my work table a Mustang P51D at 1|48th scale. It is obviously the the scale for my custom must be 1|43rd for having beautiful photos with the two machines (I don’t know when, but surely there will be some…). The base is an Fortd A from DeAgostini Romania at 1|43rd. The original model looks like this:

The modifications I’ve done was to shorten the body and to make a wooden bed in the rear of  the vehicle. Also I putted to this car some truck wheels. The rear tires are bigger than the front ones amplifying the rake look of the car.The decals are from a Bell Helicopter @ 1|48th scale. All over the paint work I laid down two layers of flat varnish.
Please enjoy the ride:
