vette C8 | short review & mod description

There is long time since I modified a budget model car.
After detailing a G-Class from Minichamps, a Vette C4 from AutoArt and several other premium models, I returned at the pleasure of turning a budget diecast modelcar into a collection custom model.
Long story short. I felled in love with a Corvette C8 by Maisto. It was love at first sight. After I unboxed it, I was not disappointed.
The paint is very glossy (nice surprise) but also very thick. That's bad surprise because every panel gap is almost invisible (bumper / fender, roof panel gaps and so on). A nice surprise also is the fact that the panel gaps are very small comparing with what we expect from a 35€ 36o° open diecast model car. Maisto made something on that and they did it well. Congrats for this!
The interior is somehow basic. There are no different textures on the elements apart of carbon fiber traditional relief shape. The gap lines in interior are also bad represented. You have to guess them more than see them. On the other hand, we have all we need at the interior for making a decent representation : buttons tampography, instrument panels decals and little other details.
But overall I find this model a very good base for making a custom model, so I did it.
For instance no new rims but it is forecasted in the near future.
The list of mods, not all of them below
- stance
-chromed lip for rims
-black tinted engine hood window
-lateral air intakes detailed
-tan leather interior
-dash board detailed
-textile seat belts & realistic boucle
-carpeted interior
-side windows semi raised (HW Elite style)
-number plate for rear

Lock-down works | Trabant 601 | universal

Something new for me this time. Not a putted down wreck car, not a stance clean look old school, not even a rusted old guy. Just a Trabant out of the box (OOB). Of course, some upgrades for detailing as close as possible of reality this Revell kit were added.
But, first of all, few words about the kit. Revell propose a very detailed kit at this scale. A lot of separate parts for every tiny pipe in the engine bay, a very detailed and correct under-body and also a good interior.
The details are amazing already OOB, and, if you spend some time adding more here and there, you will have a very correct scale model. I personally added some wires, nuts for front and rear shock absorbers and also for suspension.
Not more than this, and of course, painting and weathering where needed. The color I choose is a Light Grey,  called Delphingrau in Trabant color palette. The color was used between 1976 and 1990. Th white roof is my preferred style touch for the Trabant cars. The tiny car with the white roof I always remember from my childhood.
But let's see some pictures of the model I build:

Lock-down works | Ford T | Woody Wagon

Hello friends,
Here it is the continuation of my works in lock-down time. Two month of efficient work on m models.
The second ICM plastic kit of Ford T turns in a what-if model. I used in addition of the base kit another model - European Cart by MiniArt at the 1/35 scale (the rear wood structure of my model).
The building of the ford base was straight forward due to the previous experience I had with the T Ford black. I let you enjoy the ride.

Lock-down Works | LowEast | episode 1

Pffff.... friends
Bad times we are living! The lock down is longer than I expected but it is the price we have to pay to the corona! I hope sooner or later we will be be like before, on a terrace drinking a beear with our friends and eating potatoes chips by hand from the bucket!
But for surviving to live this again we have to be optimistic and in good spirit shape. So, get the best from your lock down! I mainly use this period of time for modelling. My passion for doing things like this was slowed down a little bit because of the lack of time, before lock down. I was dedicated to my job and I sacrificed a lot of my personal time for the job. Now I realized how good is to share things and time with the beloved person near you, and use your free time feeding your soul!
That's the good part of pandemic for me.
So, I want to share with you what I done lately. It is about a series - you remember, may be, my LowEast 1/43 diecast modified LowEast series- of diecast eastern Europe cars, lowered and detailed. Some time, a chage a color if needed. The bases are 1@24 diecast scale models, sealed body produced y IXO I imagine for Hachette.
Look what I have done this days:
