2CV | easy restauration

About 2CV there is no more left to be said.

It is a legend, it is a cute car, and it is known everywhere on this planet. The 2CV can born passions, can be loved, or hated, but overall, everybody heard about it. Even Bond… James Bond!

The model I get it is a Welly at 1|24^th scale diecast. I saw almost all variants of 2CV from all manufacturers, but any one makes me not to quit the shop without having it. Welly did it! I didn’t quit the shop without this model. The proportions are very good, the general look is the look of a …2CV. When you look at his model in your shelf, youcan see the real one in a showroom. It’s really well done!

So, what mods I have done? Well, let’s try to enumerate them:

Engine detailing

Ride height – as you see now car has rake and it is low

Blanket on the front and rear seats

Roof rack from real wood

Additional fog lamp for the front

ARO 243 | how it was made

Hello all,

Long time no see… well, no writing in fact, but….

I found in my photo stuck a set of photos made when I scratch built the 243 ARO.

The base I used was an DeAgostini 1|43rd scale model of ARO 240.

But what ARO brand is?

Well, it is a Romanian brand of all-terrain vehicles. Its history begin back in 1957. The first vehicle produced was IMS 57, a car made under license and having as base the GAZ 69. In 1972, the IMS was replaced by the modern ARO24 range. A modern car having 4x4 transmission. The front axle has independent suspension with helicoidally spring. The rear one is rigid and has lamellar resorts. Due to this configuration the performances in off road were very good for its time.

After more than 380 000 units produced, 2003 the story of this Romanian brand stops when the Romanian State decided to sell 68.7% of ARO to a company owned by a Cuban born American business man. 
But let's talk about this conversion.

The colour I choose for the final model is white. Very popular colour among the owners of this kind of cars in the era.

 

Reault Mégane | USAF | tribute

Reault Mégane is a family car produced by the French maker, Renault. As the European car market classification, it is a C-segment car. The first generation were launched in 1995 as a successor of the Renault 19.

In 2002 Renault presented the second generation of Megane. An total redesign of the car, a design which last for several years, till 2008 where the 3^rd generation were launced.

The 2nd and the3rd generation of the Megane, offered a sport version, called RS (RenaultSport). The car are manufactured at Dieppe, the traditional factory for the sporty versions of the French maker, Renault, and headquarter of the Renault Sport division.

The 2^nd generation offered both 3 doors and 5 doos body in RS version. For the 3^rd generation, they decided to sell the Megane RS just in the 3 door body. For the 5 door body, the sportiest version is the GT.

Renault Mégane III is reproduced by Welly in the 5 door body variant. The engine reproduced by the manufacturer is the 2.0l essence. The modifications I made are mainly the paint job, WW II USAF theme. I modified also the front lip, the side skirts and the rear lip too. The stance was also modified and the model gets 18 inch rims and stretched tires.
I hope this unusual treatment makes you fall in love with this very normal family car.

Duster | PIMP

Dacia Duster is an light Sport Utility Vehicle launched by the Romanian manufacturer at Geneva Motor Show in 2010. Since then, the car gets a face lift in September 2013. The statistics tells us that in 2013, the Dacia Duster was the third best-selling SUV in the world. The Duster is sled both under the brand Dacia as well as Renault.

First generation of Duster is represented at 1/43^rd scale by Solido. A decent model, good details apart the interior full black. But isn’t as bad as it seems, because the real car has full black interior.

As usual, I’m not pleased with the standard image of this little SUV. So, orange paint, white roof, big rims and clear headlamps enhanced the general look of my scale model. The interior remains in full black.

2o15 | Military Scale Models | National Show

2015 – The 7th edition of the “Military scale models National show” takes place at the National Military Museum in Bucharest, Romania (National Military Museum Romania). In spite of the Military dedicated scale models, there are allowed to be exposed all types of scale models, doesn't matter neither the scale nor the type (navy, terrestrial or aero). The goal is to popularize this hobby among the interested people, to know each other and to show to the others that “it is serious mater”. My contribution at this event consists in 9 scale models, previously presented on this blog, but never seen in real by the Romanian modeling community.
