2o15 | Military Scale Models | National Show

2015 – The 7th edition of the “Military scale models National show” takes place at the National Military Museum in Bucharest, Romania (National Military Museum Romania). In spite of the Military dedicated scale models, there are allowed to be exposed all types of scale models, doesn't matter neither the scale nor the type (navy, terrestrial or aero). The goal is to popularize this hobby among the interested people, to know each other and to show to the others that “it is serious mater”. My contribution at this event consists in 9 scale models, previously presented on this blog, but never seen in real by the Romanian modeling community.

NIVA | lifted

On the 29th of January 2013 I have published an article about some Lada cars I have in my collection. The title was “ LADA | LowEAST". You can (still) read it here : LADA | LowEAST
The last photo of the article was a Lada Niva lifted in front of an ARO 10.
May be you wanted to see more about it… The truth is that I intended to make, just after the LADA article, another one to present the NIVA. I forgot!
But now, here you can see more photos with this little 4x4 still very popular in my country among the off roader lovers.
But before this, some words about the car.
The Lada Niva or VAZ-2121 (Лада Нива) is an off roader produced by the Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ. It can be find since 2009 on most markets as the Lada 4x4.
It was the first mass production off-road vehicle to feature a unibody architecture and independent front suspension with coil springs.
Basically, the Niva has a 1.6-litre carburetted petrol engine producing 72 hp) and 126 Nm, and full-time 4x4.
The model gets a lifted suspension, Land Rover alloy rims and a two tone color. Some details were reproduced in interior as well as at the exterior.

Q7 | pimped-out

The Q7 (internally designated Typ 4L) utilizes a modified version of the PL71 platform. The Q7 is designed more for on-road use than for off-road use where a specialized transmission - having transfer case - is needed. Development began in 2002 under the code AU 716, primarily focused on the Pikes Peak Concept. Design work was frozen for the Concept in July 2002, for presentation at the NAIAS 2003. The production design was frozen in late 2003, for a late 2005 start of production. Prototypes went into testing in December 2004, with development concluding in mid-2005. (Audi Q7, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Audi_Q7&oldid=675058455 (last visited Aug. 8, 2015).)
Several years ago, when I discovered the 1/24th scale Welly models, I felled in love with this big car: Audi Q7! I bought it instantly and I put it on the work bench. The treatment: California Look, so this means a flashy paint-job, big chromed rims and light colour leather for the interior.
The result you can see below:
